Stentorget was originally a place where millstones were dressed, stored and sold. If something went wrong during the production or transport of the millstones they were often abandoned in the forests, and as you walk along the paths and roads in Lugnås you can see many of their remains today.
At Stentorget you can unfortunately also see that the environment is steadily breaking down the millstones. Many of them look just fine, until you look closer at the surfaces and edges and see that the rain and weather are taking their toll. Some form of weather protection will be needed shortly, otherwise the millstones are unlikely to fare well over the next 50–100 years.
