It eventually became a royal estate. Magnus Gabriel de la Gardie had a castle built here, which unfortunately burned down in 1722. The only part of the castle that remains is the cellar. The old castle gardens are home to large broadleaf trees and garden plants like columbines and martagon lilies growing wild. The estate is a listed building.
